The Consumer Mediation Service has created this site to

  • offer a simple, user-friendly channel for submitting a request for assistance
  • provide information on out-of-court dispute resolution in general and the Consumer Mediation Service in particular.
  • serve as a single point of contact for other out-of-court dispute resolution bodies in Belgium.

II. Content and availability of the site

The Consumer Mediation Service has created this site with the greatest possible care and keeps it up to date. However, some information may be incomplete or incorrect. As soon as we are informed that this is the case, we will make the necessary corrections.

The Consumer Mediation Service cannot guarantee that its site will be completely free from interruptions due to technical reasons. Access may be suspended at any time and without warning to allow the Consumer Mediation Service to make changes.

Unless otherwise stated, the information provided on this site is free of rights. The Consumer Mediation Service authorizes visitors to this site to use the published data free of charge for personal or information purposes, provided that the source is acknowledged. The Consumer Mediation Service carefully protects the personal information provided to it. The personal data of complainants or their representatives is processed in an automated file. It is only used to process complaints and is only accessible to the Mediation officer and his staff.

In accordance with the law of 8 December 1992, the complainant has the right to consult this data at any time and to have it amended.

3. Applicable law

The Consumer Mediation Service and this site are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, the Belgian courts shall have sole jurisdiction.
